# DEC-0007 — `produces` edge direction (single source of truth)

The `produces` edge is declared once, on the process that creates
the artifact — the single source of truth. A capability links its
signature artifact via `relates_to`, never `produces`.

Atomic Markdown + YAML: One concept per file — a decision, a process, a term. cat-able, diff-able, git clone-able. No database, no SDK.
Typed + sourced + scored: Every atom declares its type and its typed edges, carries its source, and is marked verified, asserted, or inferred.
In your own git: The repo is yours and portable — the single source of truth. Never locked to us, to Google, or to any model.
Indexes are caches: The vector and graph indexes are derived and disposable. Delete them and rebuild from the files; lose nothing.

Because it’s atoms and typed edges — not prose — an agent can pull exactly what it needs and show its work: the atoms and edges it actually traversed, never a black box. That’s the graph and the board, next.
